Deck Building in Marlborough, MA
A Deck Built Right, From the Footings Up
A deck is where summer happens — cookouts, quiet mornings, an extra room your house didn't come with. But a deck only earns that place if it's built solid. WM Painting & More provides deck building as part of its carpentry services: new decks planned around your yard and how you'll actually use the space, and full rebuilds when an old deck has reached the end of patching.
What We Build
New decks. Ground-level and raised decks in pressure-treated wood or composite, sized to the house and the yard — with room for the grill, the table, and the people.
Deck rebuilds and replacements. When the framing has rotted or the structure has gone tired and bouncy, patching stops making sense. We tear out what's failed and rebuild on a sound structure.
Railings and stairs. Sturdy railings and solid stairs, built to match the deck and laid out so they feel right underfoot — not like an afterthought.
Finishing. A new deck isn't done when the last board goes down. We stain or paint the finished deck so the wood is protected from its first season on.
How a Deck Project Runs
It starts with a free estimate visit. We look at the yard, talk through size, layout, and materials — wood or composite, railing style, where the stairs should land — and measure everything.
Then we build: footings dug below the frost line, framing set level and square, decking fastened tight, then railings and stairs. Our decks are built to code. If your town requires a permit for the project — most do for a new deck — we'll walk you through what's needed and what the process looks like, so there are no surprises.
Finally, the finish. Once the structure is complete, we stain or paint the deck, walk it with you, and make sure every railing is solid and every board sits right.
Why the Build Underneath Matters
New England is hard on decks: freeze-and-thaw cycles, snow sitting on the boards all winter, ground moisture working from below. Decks fail where the build was rushed — footings too shallow, a ledger board flashed wrong so water rots the side of the house, boards laid tight so they cup and hold water. We build for the winters the deck will actually see, because that's the difference between a deck that's solid in fifteen years and one that's wobbling in five.
Where We Work
We're based in Marlborough and build decks throughout MetroWest — Hudson, Northborough, Southborough, Westborough, Framingham, Sudbury, and Natick, among others. We speak English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Free Estimates, Same or Next Day
Every deck project starts with a free estimate, usually delivered the same or next day. We'll look at your yard, talk honestly about materials and options, and tell you straight whether a rebuild makes more sense than another repair.
