Our Cabinet Refinishing Process

A cabinet job that lasts starts with prep. Anyone can brush paint onto a cabinet door. Making it look factory-smooth and stay that way takes a real process:

Clean and degrease. Kitchen cabinets collect years of cooking residue. We strip it all off first, because paint won't bond to grease.

Remove doors, drawers, and hardware. Everything comes off and gets finished separately. Hinges and handles get bagged and labeled so they go back exactly where they belong.

Sand and repair. We sand every surface, fill dents and dings, and caulk the seams that need it.

Prime with a bonding primer. This is the step that separates a five-year finish from a fifteen-year one. We use primers made specifically for cabinetry.

Spray, don't brush. Doors and drawer fronts are sprayed for a smooth, even finish with no brush marks. We use durable cabinet-grade coatings from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams — paints built to handle scrubbing, steam, and daily use.

Reassemble and adjust. Everything goes back on, aligned and adjusted, and we walk through the finished kitchen with you.
